Yes. CapFlow runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and WebCodecs. Your file is read locally and never sent anywhere. The Whisper AI model runs in your browser — your video never leaves your device.
Chrome 94+ and Edge 94+ are fully supported. These are required for WebCodecs video export. Transcription works on Firefox too. Safari support is in progress.
The first transcription fetches the Whisper AI model from our CDN. Transcription runs at roughly 2–4× realtime on modern laptops — a 60-second clip takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on your device.
Yes — CapFlow supports 20+ languages on Pro via Whisper's multilingual model, including Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, and more.
Free includes unlimited transcriptions, 12 animations, 720p export (30 and 60fps), and SRT/VTT/TXT — with a small watermark. Pro adds 20+ languages, 1080p/4K, all glow effects, custom fonts, saved presets, and removes the watermark.
Export runs on your device using WebCodecs — no server involved. Speed depends on your CPU and resolution. The Fast preset (720p/30fps) is recommended for most Shorts.
